Budapest, Vienna and Prague in 10 Days!

My husband and I are chaperoning a high school band to the above cities - staying in each for 2-3 days in March. Does anyone have some "not to miss" sites to see in a short period of time? We have guided tours that we don't have to take as well as free time. I have found a lot of information on Prague so would appreciate any comments on Budapest and Vienna.

We are just back from travelling around Central Europe. In each city we bought a map that showed where all the tourist sights were located and the info of buses, metro and trams together with a 2 or 3 day travel pass. Public transport was safe and cheap, much more fun than conducted tours. In Vienna go to the large Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof) Tram 71 along Renweg and see the "Musicians Grove" where all the great composers are buried. A very moving experience. In Budapest there is a round trip by local transport in the Buda Hills that includes a cogweel train, a childrens railway, a chairlift ride where you catch the bus back to Moszkva ter. There is also the Grand Circus in City Park that has perormances every day but Monday. Let me know if you want more details.

My wife and myself are planning to visit these locations next summer. I have been doing research and have found the following website to be great-http://www.travelocity.com It has every major city listed in the destinations section of the home page-just click and go! Also, Fodor has a series of excellent Pocket Guides for these cities. Let me know how things work out so I can gain from your experience on my trip.

Just wanted to mention that Fodor has a great web site where you can make your own travel guide. I found it very helpful.
