Budapest to Krakow

Hello,
Any suggestions on a 2-day stop between Budapest and Krakow, and also between Krakow and Prague. Thanks.

Eger, Hungary makes a nice two-day stop between Krakow and Budapest. We made this stop several years ago and enjoyed seeing this historic town, and drinking the wines from the area.

Between Krakow and Prague, I suggest Olomouc in Moravia, another historic, Baroque city.

Hi tomboy,
Our interests are walking, some hiking, some museums, history, talking to people to understand their culture and enjoying native food and drink. We are in our 60's so we're not into the bar scene. I also enjoy local politics.

I also enjoy local politics.

As tourists, you'd be well advised to stay claer of political discussion with locals. Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland are all going through tough time economically, and unless you understand local situations (and speak language fluently), your contribution probably won't be welcomed. When you do get into conversation with locals (many at least understand some English, and with older generations, German), just say how much you are enjoying their beautiful country and friendly people.

Thanks Alec. Good advice.
