Budapest Labyrinth

Search here turned up nothing. Anyone ever been to the caves and tunnels under Buda Castle? Looks interesting, but was wondering if anyone had been?

Not that we need more "possibles" but, you never know.

Yes - we did it several years ago. If you;re going to the castle why not see this as well - interesting but not fascinating - but it doesn;t take that long.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too, being where it was and all. I was just wondering if it seemed more along the lines of historic or cheesy. Not that I'm above kitch. :) I do live a few miles from Graceland after all. Just couldn't tell which way it leaned from the website.

Like nytraveler said, its interesting and fun (at least for me), won?t take you more than 35 minutes if you walk at a slow pace. Its just a few steps from the fisherman bastion so it doesn?t hurt to take a look. I think it was a nice touch to have a wine fountain inside the labyrinth, at least it looked and smelled like wine, I didn?t tasted it though.

Yes,it was fun for the kids and dosen't require much time.

Thanks again. If we have an extra few minutes, we'll make a walk through. Doesn't sound like one of those "London Dungeon" type things, which is good.

Hi Clifton:

Last year we did the Buda Castle Labyrinth (took 2 tries as too much water the first time we tried), it was neet but nothing special. If your looking for caves - we did really enjoy Pálvölgyi Barlang (in Obuda) a set of caves in a rock quarry with wonderful stalagmite.

Thanks TravelMaster. Still haven't decided on any itinerary (never do) but if we make it into Obuda in our 4 days there, I'll see if we can work it in.
