Budapest-Hotel, centrally located with parking...

I am looking into the Hotel Victoria, Budapest based on reccomendations from this board. We really do not want to spend more than $15o USD a night. Any other reccomendations. We will have the car for day trips, but I like being centrally located...

I paid a little less than that at the hilton two years ago. its on the hill literally right next to the matyas church. cabs are not that expensive but they have parking for your car that I remember and the concierge staff was very helpful. the staff speaks engish well and its very similar to what you would find at a hilton in an american city as far as accomodations. not your typical european small room with smelly beds. underneath the hotel they have a wine cellar and resterant that you have to take a stair well about 100 feet down. its the original cellar from hundreds of years ago. very cool.

Thanks but the Hilton is booked for our days.

Consider the Taverna. Very central location, and quite a decent hotel, if not in the Castle Hill Hilton class. I believe they have on-site parking, but if my memory is off, at least there is parking within 2 short blocks.

We stayed at the Hotel Victoria in Oct. and were very happy with it. If you decide to stay there, I would strongly recommend that you reserve a parking space. The hotel has a private garage but it only holds about four cars.
