Budapest Hotel

I have been trying to find a hotel in Budapest, but found out either they're booked (Bellevue B&B) or too expensive (K+K Hotel, 170 Euro). Can you recommend a hotel for around 100 Euro for a double room (max 150 Euro, but definitely prefer to be closer to 100)? We're more concerned to be centrally located since we wont have a car. Thanks.

2 years ago we (no car) stayed in a suburban hotel, quite near a bus line that, in 12 minutes, got us to Deak Ter each morning. the public transit is quite good. so don't let that be a deterrent, or to force you to spend more than you wish

Have you tried Priceline?
We got the Art'Otel in Budapest a couple of years ago and were quite happy.

Try the Burg Hotel www.burghotelbudapest.com on Castle Hill. I am staying there in a few weeks at 115 EUR - it has received good reviews and they were very nice during booking via e-mail. Breakfast included!

Stayed at Hotel Fiesta in 2002.

It is centrally located on Pest side (which I prefer over Buda side for accomodation).

We have actually cancelled the Budapest leg of our trip but had booked to stay at the Victoria Hotel http://www.victoria.hu/english/rooms.aspx - this was after reviewing recommendations here on Fodors. A number of Fodorites advised that the Hotel's location - right on the river - combined with panoramic windows made it a great place to stay. I think the price will fit into your budget as well.

We stayed here. Don't let their poor first picture put you off. Location at the foot of Castle Hill was fantastic. Price is what you are looking for too.

We stayed at the Gold Hotel Buda (booked through Venere) www.goldhotel.hu - which should be in your price bracket. It's about 15 to 20 minute walk from either the castle or town centre, though a bus also stops nearby.

Thanks everyone, I sent out several emails this morning about availability - I should be able to find one from your recommendations.

We also stayed at the Fiesta in 2004. It was extremely well located and had very good services and rooms.
