Budapest Great Synagogue

We will be in Budapest the end of August and would like to take a tour of the Dohany St. Synagogue. All I can find online are private tour companies offering tours. Unfortunately, the Synagogue website seems to be in Hungarian only with no accessible information.
Does anyone know if the Synagoue itself provides tours of the building and grounds? If so is there contact information that you can share.
Thanks

I just typed in "dohany synagogue" and got their web page which is in English. They do have tours in varying languages. I'm not sure why you're having such a hard time.

Thank you. I had seen this website but my initial impression was that it was a general tour site for the Jewish quarter. Looking at it closer I now see the reference to the Synagogue and grounds tour for 4,000 HUF.
The site I had been looking at, dohany--zsinagoga.hu had no English version.
thanks again.

I also found it interesting to visit the Kazinczy Street Orthodox synagogue - didn't bother with a tour.

We didn't do a tour, either, but Dohany and the museum were the highlights of our visit to Budapest.

We did a tour offered in many languages - no booking required when we were there

Guided Tours?

I'm also interested in visiting Synagogue & Jewish Quarter. Only have 2 days in Budapest & unfortunately they are a Friday and Saturday. Has anyone taken one of the tours described on the website? Thanks for posting about this

As you may know, the Synagogue does not give tours on Saturday and I doubt any other tour group does. I would think the tours end earlier on Friday than on other days. Hope you get an opportunity to tour.
