Budapest dangers amid the charms!!

Single men should avoid Budapest. There is a scam going around in which two beautiful women will approach men in their 20's and 30's and ask them to buy a drink. The ladies will be glad to guide you to a mafia bar and when you get the bill its for $500-1,000. If you refuse to pay thre goons will appear directing you to the nearest ATM machine. YOU WILL PAY OTHERWISE YOU WILL END FACE DOWN IN THE DANUBE RIVER. NEVER buy a drink for anyone in Budapest unless you know them personally.

But single men should be fine so long as they avoid assertive local ladies, it would seem.

Wow in Budapest now?

This has been a common scam in Greece for quite a while now. In fact my 3 year old Lonely Planet guide book for Greece mentions it.

Whenever beautiful women approach me I'm always incredibly suspicious. I'm not good looking enough (or stupidly gullible enough) that they would ever be interested in me for legitimate reasons...

Hey Scarlett!

Glad I could give you a giggle. Just dress dowdy when you approach me and we'll get along fine.

This, or something like it, was posted some time ago.

I think that Mark Twain might have mentioned a similar problem in the 1870's.

Is it the same two women in every bar?
