I did an advance search, and here are several threads with comments on this place. Most are positive, except that it is in the hilly section and quite a lot of steps...

Most cultural events ( opera, ballet, recitals) and museums are down on the other side of the river. Taxis cost quite a bit more to go up there. But there are buses, but I don't recall the numbers. The bus from pest side is better than the metro as it leaves you higher upon the hill. The metro leaves you near the bottom practically, and it is a steep walk up.

I met some people staying there and they really liked the owners and the place.. but also complained of some "walk" at the end of the day. I have never been there but imagine where it is.

I've stayed there and and recommend it. As for the hill, if using the tram, it might be better to get off at Mozkva Ter.(sp?), walking a little farther but pretty much on level ground.

We are booked to stay there over Easter 2010...probably too far away for you...but we will report back :)

We stayed at the Bellevue B&B two years ago and loved it! The owner, Judit, was gracious, helpful, personable. The rooms were wonderful with balconies overlooking the river and Pest. The walk is not such a big deal and you are right next to Fisherman's Bastion and the Buda Castle is not very far either. Anyway, getting to know the city means walking around the streets. The breakfasts are exceptional and Judit and her husband are very helpful in getting tickets to events. I will be in Budapest for my third time this September for 3 weeks and I am renting an apartment but would have gone back to Bellevue had the price been similar to the apartment. We ate at a restaurant recommended by Judit called A 'la carte Bp.,I.ker.Iskola u.29 that was OUTSTANDING!
