Hi, Sher. For the trip report search for Central Europe: Great Sights

Hi Sher,
Below is a link to my travel website. We were in Kraków last year and loved it. Click on the Kraków links and you'll see my trip report with photos. We were in Kraków for three and a half days. Have fun! http://web.me.com/tomfielding1/Tom_%...e/Welcome.html ((H)) |
hi sher,
we were lucky enough to find a [free!] concert in one of the churches one night when we were in Krakow, and we went to a concert at the philharmonia. [not free but good enough value at €25 each]. there are also costumed concerts in another of the churches which at €50 each struck us as a bit of a rip off. one day, we also did a self-guided trip to the communist steel town of nova huta and walked through it to the Arka Pana church which Pope John Paul 11 blessed when he was Bishop of Krakow - it's supposed to resemble the ark and is very stiking. this took half a day or so. another day, we crossed the bridge to see the ghetto [very moving] then back to enjoy lunch at a jewish restaurant in Kazimierz, ending up at the castle on our way back. the best museum we found was the Natinoal Museum a little way out of the main centre - as well as interesting pictures it had a great cafe with fantastic cakes! you will find there's loads to do in 3 days. regards, ann |
Hi ann. Thank you for some ideas. I don't think I will want for things to see and do. I will have the opposite problem with only three nights.
maitaitom. I have already read your trip report. So many good ideas. This whole trip started out with a wish that I could see Auschwitz. But then we thought: why not Budapest too. And from there it has really taken off. We are not planning to go for a while lucky for me as I have been reading so many trip reports. I like to be an informed traveler. But finding comments here is better than a lot of guide books. |
