Budapest and Ibiza Multi-city flight tickets - please help

Hi all,

I"m wanting to fly SFO to Budapest; then Ibiza to SFO. I will get from Budapest to Ibiza through a domestic flight :)

can you please help me figure out how much to pay for this multi-city flight from SFO-Budapest; Ibiza-SFO in end of August? Right now Expedia shows 1350 or something like this. should i wait ..do you think fares will drop or is this the best? i have no idea anymore with the atrocious flight prices to europe whether i should wait or not...the reports say europe is in trouble so great time to go but the flight prices - thanks to oil prices - don't reflect any of that. Please advise..anyone...ok no someone who knows these things..please advise..and what other sites to try booking from? I find Expedia has the best rates.

thanks!

That probably is the right price. I kept on checking tickets prices for a couple of weeks, and I got SFO-Krakow Nice-SFO for $1328. The prices never budged more than $10 or so either way.

Did you try www.kayak.com to see what it lists as the lowest price?

same...and the wait times for the flights are like over 30 hours...so the prices are still similar to Expedias however...but the thing is we're in Feb..well March and our trip is August 31st...that's like 6 months away. I booked NYC tickets end of Jan for May and it dropped 200$ last week. So i just don't know what to do with Europe...your $1328 is for what month may i ask?

There are flights each way with only one stop, and nothing like 30-hour stopovers. But you pay more than for longer, more circuitous routes. August is prime travel time across the Atlantic and fare patterns cannot be compared to what's happening on US internal flights in winter.

I am going May 10 and coming back July 10.

Exclude Ibiza from your flight plan and try using Valencia or Barcelona as your airport to SFO. Using a ferry or local puddle jumper from Ibiza might be cheaper than booking the international flight from there.

True I understand I cannot compare domestic flight prices to transatlantic, so Southam what are you saying - these prices are as good as they are going to get (yes i know you can't see into a crystal ball) but still in your opinion...?

Michael - ok I'll try Barcelona to SFO...
