Buckingham Palace

Greetings all!
I understand that a portion of Buckingham Palace is open to the public. Is this true? How can I get a tour?

Thanks for your help.

Other than the Royal Mews (stables) and picture gallery I believe that sections of the Palace itelf are open only when the queen is in Scotland in August and September. but you may want to check with their web site for specifics - you can get advance tickets (which are limited by time) there too.

We toured a section of Buckingham Palace and its gardens last August. I'm so sorry, but I can't remember the exact name of the tour. However, if you search the Buckingham Palace web site or a wholesaler like Londontown.com, you'll probably find the information. If I can pull it up from my messy files, I'll certainly post it for you.

Unbelievably, I found the information! It was a tour of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace, which ran (last year) from August 6th-September 28th, every day from 9:30 AM- 4:30 PM, with 4:15 PM being the last possible time of admission.

Apparently, I booked this online through www.royalresidences.com, in order for our visit to coincide with the late morning changing of the guards.

I don't know if this tour will run again this year, but hope this info will help!

The others are right - it's only only for a specific time during the late summer

you'll find the info on www.royal.gov.uk

yes, even the Queen has a personal website these days...

You can order tickets on line. I did so and it was quick and convenient (but only in Aug. or Sept.)
