Brussels Train Station to Airport?

I’m going to Brussels in a little over a month, and I’d greatly appreciate some help with some various issues. I’ll be flying into Brussels National airport and then heading to the Bruxelles-Midi station (Brussels South) where my hotel is located. The following day is when I’ll be leaving for France.

This is where my question comes in. I’ll be returning at Brussels South Station at 8 AM nearly exactly. My flight (international) leaves at around 11:30. How can I get to the airport from the train station? Where should I go (in the station)? How long does it take? If necessary, I believe that a cab would be 40-50 dollars and would get me there at 8:30, which would give me be plenty of time. Are there any quick alternatives, i.e. a train, subway, bus, etc. that would be cheaper and arrive at the airport at around 9 AM, preferably?

You're assuming all goes as 'planned".

There's also a train that goes to the airport. Here are your options.

if you can take your arriving train to Brussels Midi, the connection should be easy.

The train is 30 minutes from Lille, so I'm not anticipating too many worries... hopefully.

The arriving train is indeed at Brussels Midi.

Thanks, I had that link before but didn't have a chance to read it carefully.

I got this for the timetables:

Where can I buy tickets? There?

How about on your first stop at Midi to buy them for your second stop at Midi?

You can either purchase tickets online and print them out..

Or purchase them at the train station. There are vending machines but they don't accept credit cards, only debit. Best may be to head over to the manned counter and buy one there. If you are purchasing your return ticket beforehand, don't forget to mention the date of your return.

You can also purchase a ticket on the train if you don't have time to buy one at the station, though you may be subjected to an extra three euro penalty for doing so. Just make sure to notify the conductor BEFORE you board the train or you may face a much steeper fine.

Thanks! Where can I buy the tickets online? And are the timetables I posted correct? (The link may not be working anymore)/

Here is what I found on the German Rail site which has detailed timetables for virtually all of Europe.

Leave Lille Europe at 07:30 and arrive at Bruxelles-Midi at 08:04.

Leave Bruxelles-Midi at 8:30 and arrive at Bruxelles-Nat-Aeroport at 08:51.

Follow Rastaguytoday's suggestion about buying tickets.
