brussels to portugal

Hi guys
Can you help me. I have never been to Europe but plan to go next year. I will be starting in Brussels and want to see France Spain Amsterdam and Portugal. What do you recommend or should I avoid. To make it more difficult for you I have about 2 weeks . You're all so knowledgeable. Would appreciate your help.

It's not something you want to consider with only 2 weeks to spare.

Too much territory, not enough time. What do you want to see in France and Spain? They're big countries.

You have two weeks and want to hit FIVE countries. That will be a huge waste of time and money since you won't have much time to see/do anything.

Spain and Portugal could be done in two weeks . . . . but you'll only see a tiny bit of both countries.

Or you could visit Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Bruges in a couple of weeks.

But 5 countries in 2 weeks isn't doable. And . . . is it 2 weeks 'on the ground' which actually takes 16 days? If you mean 2 weeks total including travel time you will only have 11.5 days free 'on the ground')

Thanks guys. What is important is Brussels and Spain. Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.if I decided to split them into 2 holidays which should I do first. What tours are good. Train an option? Too many questions?

If Brussels and Spain are most important, then stick to these two places only. Brussels with a day trip to Bruges will take you 4 days maximum, leaving 10 days including transfer for Spain.

You need to decide where in Spain you want to go and then plan accordingly.

Fly from Brussels to Spain. And fly home from Spain. Open jaw tickets, in your case into Brussels and out of Spain, should cost about the same as round-trip; such tickets are called multi-city on airline web sites.

Yes -- If those are the two musts, then do them. Four or so days in Belgium, fly to Spain, visit a few places there. In the 9-ish days you'd have free in Spain you could see maybe 3 cities w/ and additional day trip or two.
