Brussels to london

Hi
I am booked on Eurostar back to london from Brussels arriving 9am.

I need to get to Gatwick airport by 1130am. Is getting out of St Pancras very slow. Does UK immigration hold us up with the crowd forming lines to the immigration counter. I am afraid if I get delayed I may miss my flight at Gatwick.

Most appreciative of any comments I can get.

George

No. You will have gone through UK border control before boarding in Brussels, and if the Eurostar arrives on time, you should have plenty of time - the journey to Gatwick takes about an hour.

On arrival at St Pancras, you will need to turn right on the concourse to go to the central area for the national rail routes.

Do you mean you need to check in at Gatwick at 1130 or that is the time of your flight? If it is the latter then you really are cutting it fine, depending on the airline you may be expected to check in 2 hours before departure..

To get to Gatwick, turn right on exiting the arrivals hall and follow the signs for Platform A, if you need a ticket there is a ticket office and machine to the right to the entrance to the platforms. You will be travelling at the end of the rush hour and there may be queues for tickets...trains leave at 10, 24, 40 and 54 minutes past each hour and really do take a full hour to the airport!

Keep in mind London Bridge station is having engineering works so not all trains go direct to Gatwick from st Pancras. You may need to change at Victoria....

Eurostars are largely on time and you should be at Gatwick by 10:30 easily if all goes well.

But I would advise others to always try to be in your air departure city the night before - you never know when train disruptions can occur and Eurostar on rare occasion has been affected.
