Brussels Restaurants?
 

For terrific seafood and great mussels in particular, try Vincents ... can't recall address, but it can be found fairly easily. Noisy and friendly. Try the mussels steamed in their wine/dijon mustard concoction ... yummy!

Visited Brussels in mid-august of 96 and stayed at the Hotel Sema on Rue des-Harengs -tel (02) 514 07 60 just off Grande Place easily accesible by underground as we arrived by Eurostar from London. They recommended a restaurant just off Grand Place- Auberge des Chapeliers a small continental restaurant with a loft. We had Mussells provencale, saddle of lamb and veal chops with roquefort sauce--delicious! Quite reasonable.

You're in luck!Brussel sports one of the best Guide Michelin three star restaurants;Comme Chez Soi ('one of the best three star....' implies 'at the top of Premier League') CCS is quite small, and has a bistro-like atmosphere. The service suffers a little because it's so small etc. The food does not suffer however!! It's pricey, but not too pricey. At lunch you can get away with a three course set menu at approx USD 45 (tax/tips incl.) Very good wine list. reservations required. Fairly informal at lunch. telep. I recently returned from a visit to Brussels and my friends took
me to a lovely Brasserie Restaurant called Roue D'or. It's just off the
Grand Place - the address is 26, rue des Chapeliers and the telephone
number is (02)514 25 54. It's lovely, comfortable and middle range $$ wise.
Also, if you like interesting shopping visit Les Galeries St-Hubert and don't
miss the Ovida Chocolate store. There's also a trendy area that centers
around a beautiful large old church and there are some great tea and coffee
houses. One restaurant in particular is great - everyone sits around one table
whether you're with other people or not. I think it's called Pain Quotidien and
they sell bread and chocolates etc in the front with the small restaurant in the
back. It's very popular and always lined up as it is in the middle of this trendy
area across the street from the church. Have a great time!

I second the Roue D'Or. We had dinner there last May. Excellent and reasonable, especially for Brussels. Reservations recommended.
