Brussels Hotel Recommendation
What is a good neighborhood to stay at in Brussels? Strictly vacation, not a business trip.
We'll be there (2 adults) in late May/early June 2018. Price about $150 US per night or less. Hoping to have breakfast included. We won't need gym facilities or a pool. This will be a 7 night stay. Open to boutique hotels and/or B&B's. |
Not sure about the rate...I stayed at The Dominican a couple years ago
Very nice hotel and good location |
I have stayed at three,
Warwick Brussels (when it was Windsor something or other) Nice hotel a minute away from Grand Place. Brussels Waffle practically next door for breakfast (don't laugh, despite the kitschy look it was good) http://www.brusselscity.net/wp-conte...1/DSC_0202.jpg Chelton near the European Parliament: walking distance to AutoWorld, War Museum, easy metro ride to anywhere. Hotel des Colonies, about a 15 minute walk to Grand Place, again easy access to the metro. |
Anywhere near Bruxelles-Central / Grand' Place is good but can be pricey; Place St-Catherine, De-Brouckère a little cheaper but still near where everything is happening. Louise is less central but an upscale neighbourhood and is a metro ride away, with proximity to nice shops and restaurants. The European Quarter is a little out of the way but accessible by metro and can represent good value on weekends as those visiting the European institutions are all at home for the weekend. Around Bruxelles-Midi or Bruxelles-Nord are less desirable.
Lavandula |
We've stayed in the Avenue Louise neighbourhood three times (Sheraton Four Points) and love it. It's a 15 minute walk from the Grand Place but we love the surrounding area much more than the downtown/Grand Place.
