Brussels Hotel
Is it true that the hotels are cheaper on the weekends? I decided that it would be best to stay overnight in Brussels on my return from Brugge. (I am afraid if I catch the Eurostar the same day, I might be getting into London too late)
Anyway, can anyone recommend a CHEAP hotel near the train station? I would prefer to have breakfast included. Thanks |
I would not recommend a cheap hotel near Gare du Midi, but I mentioned in your other post the Hotel Sabina, an especially clean, proper and nice hotel that is offering rates around 50E per night. It's a two steps from the Place Madou metro station from which you can metro to Gare du Midi. Or even take a taxi. Their rate includes a buffet continental breakfast.

Oh and yes, hotels are generally cheaper on the weekend in Brussels.

Thanks USBeauty... but you have me confused with someone else. This is my first post about Brussels. I just decided this morning to stay there for the night. (99.9% of my post on here are about London and the other .1% is about Brugge)
I will check out that hotel! 50Euro sounds good. (I'm just afraid to take the metro because I only speak English, but I'll figure it out. ;) ) |
Never mind. LOL! You didn't confuse me with someone else ... I forgot about that post last night ;) - but it wasn't my thread.
I feel silly. |
LOL! I thought I was going crazy.
No worries about the metro. It's easy to find your way around. There are only two lines in city centre. Also, they speak English at Hotel Sabina should you decide to stay there and will help you getting to Gare du Midi. |
I stayed at the Hotel Noga in Brussels for 86 euros midweek in April. I took a tram about 5 minutes' ride from Gare du Midi, and about a 5 minute walk. It is a lovely hotel, with a noce staff and you can book online. It was also the best night's sleep of my trip and a lovely and generous buffet breakfast was included.
