Brussels Airport to Bruges B&B
 

We will be arriving via EasyJet at Brussels International at 6:40 PM this June 13. We need to make our way to our B&B ('t Walleke, Carmersstraat 41) in Bruges. So, I'm assuming that means a train from the airport to central Brussels to catch the train to Bruges and then taxi or walk to the B&B? Any more specific advice would be appreciated.

Two trains an hour - always with one change of train it seems at either Brussels-Nord or Brussels-Midi train stations - according to www.bahn.de - the German Railways web site that I use for all european train schedules because to me it is the easiest.

All told takes about 90 minutes - Zaventem airport train station to Bruges - I know Bruges very well so if you know in what general part of town I could comment better. There are trams or buses frequently serving the Bruges station as well.

The Belgian Railways web site I believe is www.b-tourrail.com - just buy tickets at the airport train station on arrival - never ever any problem IME getting on trains - no trains on that route require seat reservations nor are they even possible I believe - so just hop the airport train to either Nord or Midi (a k a Brussels-Zuid or South station and really the main train station in Brussels) and change. No reason to pre-buy tickets I believe.

Thanks, Palenq. The B&B is at Carmersstraat 41 in the St. Anne's district. So, from train station - bus, tram, taxi, walk?

Looking at Carmersstraat 41 on Google maps, it would be a serious hike from the train station. If you do a search on the bus site, it says that you can bus to within 860 meters from the B&B (8 minute bus ride on route 13 to the Brugge Biekorf stop, then a 12 minute walk). http://reisinfo.delijn.be/reisinfo/f..._nr=1488083122

If that doesn't sound easy, take a cab.

You can as well take any bus that goes from the Station to the Market Square (Markt). From there it's a 10 min. walk to Carmersstraat.

If not familiar with European buses in general you may have to buy our ticket before boarding the bus and then validate or cancel it yourself on the bus in a cancelling machine so you cannot use the ticket again as many buses have no conductors and are on the honor sytem enforced by not so IME unfrequent checks and summary fines for folks riding without valid tickets or some kind of pass. Not sure Bruges buses work this way but typically in European in general that is the way - tobacconists often sell bus tickets as may post offices or any kiosk in train stations, etc. Some countries even require a ticket for large bags.

You have indeed to buy a ticket before boarding the bus, and validate your ticket in a cancelling machine on the bus. There is a kiosk (?) at the bus stop in front of the Brugge train station.
