Brussels Accomodation and Restaurant choice
My next trip will be Brussels , and I have some difficulties choosing the hotel. Currently i am between these establishments:
Bristol Stephanie Crowne Plaza Europa Crowne Plaza Le Palace Melia Avenue Louise Radisson SAS EU Radisson Royal Sofitel Astoria Sofitel Europe Sofitel Toison D'Or Also, i am between Bruneau and Comme Chez Soi for a Michelin Starred meal in the city. Thank you all in advance. |
Another hotel choice would be The White Hotel(ex. New/Alfa Louise)

I LOVE the Bristol Stephanie, & will not stay anywhere else when I have the option - which sadly, i sometimes do not.

Renaissance, Hesperia Sablon as well as Jolly Hotel are also in the same price range.

You seem to have enough hotel choices...
I'd opt to dine at Comme Chez Soi, if you can get a reservation. Patricia |
I strongly recommend the Renaissance.
Wonderful rates and a superior breakfast! |
Thank you all for your replies so far.
Radisson SAS Royal as well as Le Palace are out. I also found some very good deals for the Silken as well as the Barsey. |
The Barsey isn't really in the thick of things... it's on the avenue Louise, almost to the Bois de la Cambre. It's a nice walk up to Place STephanie, or you can take a tram which runs just in front of the hotel. I often put friends there when they come visit and they all like it.

The Barsey is fine if you like being at the residential end of the Avenue Louise. Has a slightly exotic, sumptuous decor that may not be to everyone's taste.
I don't think much of the Melia Ave. Louise. The Sofitel Europe just opened today, so have no idea what it's like. We have stayed at the Sofitel Toison d'Or and found it very comfortable, good staff, convenient location, very cost effective. It's much more attractive than it looks from the street (you go up a level to the main part of the hotel). The Bristol is an elegant choice. No opinion on your two restaurants, but if you want to try two other very good Brussels restaurants, look at Notos (www.notos.be) and Le Chalet de la Foret (www.lechaletdelaforet.be). I would not be surprised to see a Michelin star award for Notos (I love their pistachio stuffed chicken stuffed with an orange sauce). And Chalet de la Foret serves great good in a gorgeous setting. Not Michelin starred (yet) but has a "cle d'or" rating from Gault & Millau. |
