Browns Hotel: What are the rooms like?
We're spending a week at this hotel in a STANDARD double room. I've heard good and bad. Has anyone out there actually stayed in a standard room at this hotel? How small is it? How clean is it? What's the bed/comforter like? What's the bathroom like? Lots of questions...

My room was larger than average. Victorian style furniture, very clean. The bathroom was classic black & white style tiled floors. You won't be disappointed. Very good location close to underground, shops, & lots of spots for tea incl. the hotel of course. Have fun!

I stayed in a standard double room in March 2001 which I booked the day before. The room was a good size, definitely not small. I do recall that the bed was so comfortable and had a nice soft down comforter. I remember sleeping for 14 hours my first night there bc of jet lag and having shut the shades so it was dark and the sun didn't wake me up. The bathroom was okay. Not great. It was really big but old fashioned (no marble sinks or anything). The shower was a bath/shower and I remember it being hard to get into, pretty high. We really enjoyed staying there though. It was very atmospheric and in a great location. Read Agatha Christies Murder at Bertram's Hotel, it was set at Browns.
