Nantes is a city on the edge of Brittany. Dinard would offer more well-known sites nearby: Saint Malo, the coast, Cancale, the Mont Saint-Michel (actually in Normandy).

Hi erb

Dinard is a beautiful place to visit - the best markets I've ever come across in France, cute blue & white stripe tents on the beaches, lovely walk around the cliffs with views across to St Malo . . . and probably a lot more that we didn't get to see.

We stayed in Dinan for a few days, and found it to be a great base for visiting Dinard, St Malo & Mont Saint Michel. Dinan also has a very interesting old town and river port areas to explore. Di

Well Dinan is fantastic
Dinard is a beach resort across the river from St Malo
Nantes is a city

I'd stay in St Malo or Dinan in preference

If you want ideas on what to see and do in the area around Dinan/Dinard/Saint-Malo you can have a look at my photo report about spending five days exploring that area. It has photos and descriptions of all the places I visited: http://tinyurl.com/82azcyh
