Britrail pass
 

I just bought britrail passes for my daughter and i .. Now i am wondering if i will be able to use mine .. I have a green card to live in the US (I have been here since 1972) however i am still a British citizen . and now I am reading that it is not for British citizens .. and i have a British passport .. I suppose i could show my gren card too ..
does anyone know if it will be a problem.

I checked with Britrail,and as long as I show proof of residence in US I will be able to use my pass.
I also made a copy of the email saying that ..just in case.

I've used a BritRail pass on all 4 of my trips to the UK and I've never been asked to show my passport or otherwise prove I am a U.S. resident/citizen, I presume if you were able to purchase it, the rail personnel presume you qualify as a U.S. resident.

I've had dozens of BritRail passes and have always had to show my passport to activate the pass - always, but you only need be a US resident to qualify to use the BritRail - if you were a resident of the UK you could not. Once on the train i've never had to show my passport, they just glance at the pass - so casually that you could be using a years old pass if you wanted to. So you shouldn't have any problem as long as you have proof of US residency - take your driver's license as well.

When I activated my britrail pass (as well as my sister's and my husband's) I only had to show my passport to activate all three of them. Maybe because I have an American accent they didn't mind. However my husband is a UK citizen and has a green card. I called and asked and they said that all I needed to bring for him is either the green card or even just a state I.D. or driver's license.
