I have bags on the rolls that fit into a dispenser attached to our dog's leash retractor. Get 'em cheap at the Dollar Store and they work perfectly because they are designed for the specific purpose. Lots of dog walkers use them. No holes in them, either.

Plastic grocery bags???? For groceries? How very right-wing rednecky.

Plastic shopping bags, carrier bags or plastic grocery bags are a type of shopping bag made from various kinds of plastic. In use by consumers worldwide since the these bags are sometimes called single-use bags, referring to carrying items from a store to a home. However, reuse for storage or trash is common, and modern plastic shopping bags are increasingly recyclable or biodegradable. In recent decades, numerous countries have introduced legislation restricting the sale of plastic bags, in a bid to reduce littering and pollution.

Most supermarkets will ask you if you are using your own bags, want to pay for on of theirs or use the tatty re-used ones......... if you are at the self-service check-out they will ask the same....you get discounts for using your own bags.

We have a 150+ pound Newfoundland. I cannot imagine putting her poo in a bag with holes. (To be more accurate, my husband does this chore.) The smell.....ewwww. We buy Target store brand small plastic bags with baby powder scent...and no holes.

ribeirasacra - i know that the boxes are 17+ years old as we bought them when we lived in SE England and we moved to Cornwall 17 years ago. I'm pretty certain they are over 20 years old, and they are still going strong. i just wish DH hadn't given away the other 2!
