Going on a cruise and it stops in Brindisi Italy. Anyone know anything about the city and what to do there? Thanks

The historical centre of Brindisi itself is clean, pleasant and tidy, fine for wandering around. Highlights in Brindisi : the waterfront, Piazza Duomo especially by night, Santa Maria del Casale and Tempio di San Giovanni al Sepolcro and the water bus across to Villaggio Pescatori and the Monument to Sailors makes a nice trip.

If you have a bit more time, you may go by train to Lecce, a beautiful baroque city with antique excavations south-east of Brindisi.
