I'm topping this for the US day crowd. I've read good things about this hotel -- butsince we stayed at Hotel Agora on our trip I can't comment. Sorry:(

Susan - we stay at The Bridge every time we go to Amsterdam. The rates can't be beat , and the rooms are large. We always stay in room 123, but the room next door, 122, has a balcony. These two rooms overlook Prinsengracht and the Amstel with a view of the Magere Brug. It's a quiet location. The nearest metro stop is Weesperplein - about a 5 minute walk away. Waterloolein is also about 5 minutes away in the other direction. It's not fancy, but we've always been comfortable and enjoy the continental breakfast in the basement. The Indonesian restaurant next door, Flamboyant, is very good and has been recommended by Sjoerd, an Amsterdammer who regularly posts on this board. Hope you have a great trip.
