Brewpub: The Porterhouse

To all that have been, drink beer or live in Ireland........

My wife and I keep a running list of places we've visited that brew on premise. Does anyone know if The Porterhouse in Bray (Co. Wicklow) brews onsite?

I have read that they did at one time, now no longer do. If so, when did they stop brewing there?

Please help......need to figure out if this can stay on our list.

The porterhouse does brew it's own beer, but I don't think onsite in Bray somehow!

Well, 1st, I'd like to see your list. It sounds interesting. I think as they have expanded, they have consolidated to one site and I'm not sure where that is, I do not believe it is onsite in Bray.

There is one in Temple Bar that is very central and if you are in Dublin it may be more convenient. They used to brew in Temple Bar but not sure if its all offsite brewing. Had a special edition Chocolate stout a while back and it was so tasty...weird like a truffle/stout combo but tasty. Its still unique for irelandf so give it a go.

I was in the Porterhouse in Temple Bar in February, and they had a note that all their brewing is now done at one site out of town.

Four others in Ireland that I know that brew onsite:

Franciscan Brewery in Cork city
Biddy Early in Inagh in Co. Clare
Kinsale Brewing
Carlow Brewing

Don't know if the last two have tasting rooms. Last try at Kinsale they did not but you could get the beer next door

Then there's Colorado. I can help you here. Ones that I have visited not on your list:

Boulder:
Boulder Brewing
Avery Brewing
Twisted Pine Brewing
Drafthouse
Walnut Brewery - affiliated with Rockbottom
Boulder Chophouse - affiliated with Rockbottom
Upslope Brewing
BJs Pizza and Brewery - also one in Aurora and Westmisnter though the beer in Westminster is brewed in Boulder
Mountain Sun and Southern Sun - Not sure where these are brewed but it doesn't matter. This is a tiny brewer that managers to keep 16-20 of their own beers on tap in their now three restaurants (a new one opened in Denver)
Boulder also has a Meadery

Longmont:
Lefthand Brewing
Pumphouse Reastaurant and Brewery
Oskar Blues Tap House (soon to add a restaurant down the road)
The original Oskars is still in Lyons but I don't believe Dale is doing any brewing there.

Ft Collins:
Budweiser (get that out of the way first, now the good stuff)
Coopersmith
New Belgium
Odell
Ft Collins Brewery
CB & Potts - there are a bunch of these around the Denver metro area and they do a reputable job. I've been to the one in Westminster

Greeley:
Crabtree brewing

Nederland:
Wild Mountain Brew Pub

Loveland:
Rockbottom - there are 6 of these in Colorado all with their own Brewmasters in:
Westminster (2)
Downtown Denver
Park Meadows Mall (only one I haven't visited)
Colorado Springs

Broomfield:
Gordon Biersch

Denver/close suburbs
Breckenridge Brewing
Bull and Bush
Golden City Brewing (Golden's second largest brewery)
Hops: Been to the one in Westminster, not very good. One in Denver was better
Sandlot Brewing (owned by Coors)
Denver Chophouse
Wynkoop
Yak and Yeti - Formerly the Cheshire Cat. I've not had their brews since they changed over

Summit County/Near Denver Mountains:
Backcountry Brewing
Damn Brewery
Pug Ryans
Tommyknocker (Idaho Springs)

Colorado Springs
The little Italian restaurant no longer brews their own but gets their beer from Bristol
Phantom Canyon
Trinity

There are apparently over 100 in Colorado.
