Breweries in Iceland - Visiting

Hello

Has anyone visited any of the breweries in Iceland?
I know there's a few bars in Reykjavik that stock the beers, but I mean actually going to the brewery itself?

Thanks so much!
Kavey

p.s. Am also interested in visiting any other food and drinks producers during our trip around the island.

One of my favourite Icelandic breweries is Bruggsmiðjan. They make Kaldi beer which is in my opinion the best Icelandic beer. They do have visits to the brewery but the details are only in Icelandic. It costs 1500 ISK (about 5 dolars) - but they are located in Dalvik in the far north of Iceland! Still, if you´re in the area then it could be worth a look.

This is the link where they talk about the visits, they take about an hour and you get your own Kaldi glass to sample the beer. An email address is provided at the bottom of the page so I guess that would be your first port of call.

Thank you, that's great.

I had already added that one to my saved My Places Google Map for the trip -- we're in Sauðárkrókur one night and Myvatn the next so I think it's doable for us to do a detour to visit them.

I'll drop them an email and see if we can organise.

Thanks so much Mikey!

Mikey, thanks, dropped them a note and they've already responded, and we'll definitely be visiting.
