Bressanone: Day-trip or Overnight?

This article paints an enticing picture. Anybody been or planning on going in the summer. Looking for easy hikes, gorgeous scenery and interesting architecture. Would use public transportation. Would be coming from Bolzano.

We visited Bressanone/Brixen as part of a day's excursion by car from Ortisei. For the little time we spent there, I thought it was an interesting and attractive town. We saw most of the sights mentioned in the article and thought they were worth the stop, especially the cathedral complex.

But if you intend to spend multiple nights, do hikes and otherwise explore beyond the city itself, you need to investigate the public transportation to points you'd want to visit. It should be fairly good in the summer, but it's worth investigating before you commit.

Thanks Jean. Good point about checking out public transportation options.
