Bremen or Lubeck??
At the end of this month (Sept), I'll be making a short trip to Hamburg and thought I'd do a day trip via train to either Bremen or Lubeck. Both seem about a 1 hrs ride away--any suggestions as to which would be better, just for touring around??

We visited Lubeck when we were in Hamburg during a cruise ship stop over. It is a lovely city and well worth a visit. Also, there is a very old Seaman's club with beautiful pictures & decorations. Check with the information center in town. It was on a main street. Great place for lunch.

Bremen. Beautiful town square and city hall. The Schnoor district is wonderful to walk through, with great little restaurants.

I will be making a trip to Hamburg in March and am also contemplating Lubeck v. Bremen. Any thought's on which one is better? I'll probably only spend a day. Plus it'll be a Sunday...I was thinking perhaps Bremen would be too similar to Hamburg, and Lubeck would be better.

hoplight - may I suggest you flip a coin- both equally delightful day trips. I am setting here trying to determine which one I would return to and have decided on the next trip to Hamburg I would return to both. Lubeck is smaller, but then again Bremen is bigger. If you can't do both either one will be worth the visit.

Lubeck, by a mile, in my opinion; been to both.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
Thanks for the replies. I'm also going to Copenhagen, so I think I'm going to go to Lubeck since it is in the same direction as Copenhagen. Thanks everyone though for the advice.
