Breakfast near London's Montague on the Gardens
Could someone who has stayed in the Montague advise me on the availability of restaurants nearby where we could get breakfast? I expect we will eat at the hotel several mornings, but: a) we'd like variety; and b) we'd like to cut costs where possible.
Since there are a considerable number of vitamins, medicines, miscellaneous pills to be taken (we are something of a travelling geriatric unit...) close proximity to the hotel is important, so we can eat, return to room to take our meds, and visit London... Thanks! JimF |
TTT, So this question will not fade completely into oblivion.
This hotel is adjacent to the British Museum, if that will broaden the scope of folk knowledgable about the area... JimF |
Is the British Museum free.... does it have a cafe? We had breakfast at the National Gallery (free admission). It was near our hotel and its 19 pound per person continental breakfast. -:)

I have stayed several times at the hotel next to Montague on the Gardens, Bloom's, and their breakfasts were so superb that I never would think of going anywhere else! So I can't help you with your question. However, if you want to have a wonderful fish dinner in the area, go to the North Sea Fish Restaurant on Leigh Street. It's a really great (and reasonable) little place a few blocks from the Russell Square tube station. Lots of locals eat there, and their fish is the freshest in town!

Sorry I can't remember the names, but there are several small breakfast cafe's within a couple of blocks of Montague. I found their breakfast to be far too expensive. Walk towards British Museum and you will find something.
