Breakfast in London
I love a good breakfast on vacation. We will be staying near Picadilly. Any suggestions for full breakfast places or for weekend brunch?
Thanks. |
The restaurant (ground floor) at Fortnum & Maosn in Piccadilly serves good breakfast.

I agree wuth Judy about Fortnum & Mason...excellent, attentive service no matter which meal you eat there. I plan to do so, again, on my next trip in November.

This is from last year but The Independent did a feature on the 50 best places to have breakfast in London.

Go to British Home Stores on Oxford Street and get a full English Breakfast for around £2.50 with free toast!.
British Home Stores is a five minute walk from Picadilly Circus and the store is located near Oxford Circus on the right hand side of Oxford Street on the way down to Marble Arch. |
Garrick,
Thanks for that reply...I'll be sure to check it out when I'm over in November. |
I liked Harry's Bar on Piccadilly - it had one of the better English breakfasts, although not much else on offer. It was good quality though and not too expensive.
I lived in London for while and ate a lot of English breakfasts, but this was the only one I really liked. I didn't try Fortnum & Mason though but it sounds like that might be worth a try. |
Depending on your budget, if you are looking for something really special and classically English, I highly recommend breakfast at The Connaught Hotel (Carlos Place).
You feel as though you are in some Lord's London townhouse, the china and cutlery are beautiful and the service is outstanding. |
