Braemar Highland Games

When will the Braemar Highland Games be held this year (2002)? Also, will be finding a place to stay near there be difficult?

the Braemar Games are always held the first Sat. in September. It is a world famous event and if you want to stay nearby (or really anyplace along the Dee that weekend) you need to book as soon as possible.

Have a look at
http://www.braemargathering.org/

There are two large hotels in Braemar- the Fyfe Arms and the Invercauld Arms, and a plethora of guest houses and B&Bs. But, as Janis says, book NOW
It's 10 years since the last post I see on the Braemar games. Does anyone have recommendations for lodging for the 2012 games? We're finding all the hotels within a 20 mile radius booked already in January. Thanks for any leads.

There have been a lot of threads mentioning the Braemar games since 2002. Be that as it may - instead of topping a 10 year old thread, it's usually better to start a new thread of your own.

Since any place we recommend could already be booked up, you might want to contact the local TIC to seek accommodations.
