The best is supposed to be Le Miramar also in Marseille. Enjoy!

I don't think Miramar is better. It is more expensive and does have a better view, being situated on the edge of the Vallon des Auffes.

RogerB? Go - eat at both - compare and post.

I need to find "the best" (GRIN) as well, as I recently tried to make this
(fume - broth - fish...) something went terribly wrong. Fish & Fennel was all I tasted.

We sought out a wonderful place on the coast outside of Marseille that was highly recommended. They brought us the fresh fish and showed it to us. Finally the soup came out -- a sort of strained thickish soup with great flavor and dalloped with aioli and croutons. Then they brought the fish on a platter which we ate separately. It was so NOT what I expected as bouillabaisee, but was SO wonderful.

Patrick? Remember the name?

That was how I served it... the aoili and croutons were good...well? What's not to be good?
