Borghese Gallary Reservations Help

I went to the Borghese Gallery reservation website to make reservations for October. There is a screen that requests information such as name, # tickets, etc. For the month selection there is a pull down bar with just the month of September available. How do you make on line reservations for the month of October? Thanks

missypie Sep 6th, 2006 11:40 AM

You can email them and they'll tell you when they'll take reservations. My reservations were for June 1st, and it drove crazy how long I had to wait before the month of June dropped down!

missypie Sep 6th, 2006 11:42 AM

I just looked up my emails to them - I was able to reserve for June 1st on May 15th! Like I said, it drove the compulsive planner in me crazy!

Console yourself with the (?)fact that nobody else is going to be able to reserve on-line, either.

I will be in Rome for only one day, Sep 20th, from 9.30 till 18.30. I have been there before, and now I'd like to see the Galleria Borghese. I just requested tickets for the 11:00-13:00 slot. How likely is it to get the tickets on the right day/right time?

kayd Sep 6th, 2006 12:39 PM

If you do not receive the answer you want via internet, make a phone call first thing tomorrow morning. Dial the number on the website and follow instructions to press 2 for an English-speaking operator (you'll hear it in Italian "due per Inglese").
Using an internet phone service or a 1010xxx or 1016xxx dialaround service you can make the call for 75 cents or less.

Hi kayd,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm not in the US, but in Belgium, so your phone info won't be very useful, but with Voip Stunt I can even phone for free via my computer. Plus my dad speaks Italian very well, so we'll try it that way! How long does it usually take for them to give you an e-mail confirmation?

stardust Sep 6th, 2006 12:45 PM

Obviously it's quite late already over here, as you did mention the internet phone service :-)

How many days do you have in Rome? In April we were able to get tickets at the admissions desk at the Galleria Borghese for 2 days later with a couple of time choices. If you have several days, I think you'd have good luck in October doing that. A great experience for us as it was closed for renovations when we were in Rome the time before this.

You usually hear from the Borghese in an email with 24 hours. They send an immediate email that verifies that you actually want the reservation/number in party and what time. The next day you usually hear in a definite email confirmation what hour/day,etc. I think that you will probably have an easier time getting the actual time that you want now that it is fall-summer is always unpredictable. Good luck!

I am also trying to reserve for October without success so far. I just read all the previous postings and I went back to the Borghese Gallery website to look for their email address. No success there either.

What IS their email address?

kenderina Sep 6th, 2006 06:01 PM

the mail adress is [email protected]

Ticketeria is a service of booking for different museums, doesn't belong to Borghese Gallery.

I requested tickets late last night and I immediately got the auto reply from: [email protected]
This morning I received confirmation of my selected time for Spet 20th from [email protected]
Good luck
Sara

I was able to book through www.initaly.com. They were very prompt and I got the date and time I requested.

I requested a time in late September about 3 weeks ago. When I was looking on the Borghese website, the only available months to book for were July and August and it was already the 2nd week in August! So initaly was a good option for me.

stardust Sep 7th, 2006 01:53 AM

I got a confirmation of my requested date and time! Sep 20th, 11:00-13:00.

Sara46 and loisco also seem to be going the same day... anybody else?

Hi Dawn

I phoned them a couple of days ago and made my reservations for October 7 with no problems. I told the website wasn't letting me make October reservations but they didn't seem concerned and just asked for my details.
Our reservation is for 9.00am but they said to make sure we buy our tickets by 8.30am. I've heard they are very strict.

I called them this morning and got Oct 14 at 11am

I have a 13:20 flight to Frankfurt - the only time I could visit is in the morning. Am thinking of trying to get a 09:00 ticket and then taking the train to the airport. What do people think? I am flying Business Class (so that should help with the line at check-in). haven't flown out of FCO for a while but recollect that last time it was a zoo. Any recent experience or views?

Thanks to Vickio, I found www.initaly.com this morning and requested a date in October. My email went through and I'm waiting to hear that it was confirmed. I have a feeling, judging from all the previous postings, that the Borghese Gallery website will only reserve about a month in advance.

vickio Sep 7th, 2006 05:59 PM

Glad it worked out. Have a wonderful trip!!

monorailgold Sep 8th, 2006 04:15 AM

Hello,

You could also try contacting your hotel. I always have the hotel make the reservation for me. Also, in October the crowds are less so you shouldn't really have a problem.

Thank you for all of your advice. I called the number directly and just received my confirmation number.

ready2travel Sep 8th, 2006 07:51 PM

Just checked my email and found a confirmation from www.initaly.com that we have reservations for the time and date we requested in mid-October. Yay !! And it only took one day. One less thing to think about.

Wombat-I personally think that a 900am reservation and having a 1320 flight is cutting it close? Most people take the full two hours at Borghese and then when you add in the "getting to Termini and training from Termini" with new restrictions-well,it seems tight.

wombat7 Sep 24th, 2006 10:53 AM

Thanks dutyfree - that was my thought. Was so excited in thinking I had a free afternoon - but it is a Monday which is the day it is closed so was wishfully thinking I could cramp in on the morning!
