Bordeaux - New Years Eve

My husband, 4 year old son & I are staying with family in Bordeaux for New Years Eve.

Just curious - Are there fireworks on New Years Eve in Bordeaux? If so, any suggestions on where to go to see them?

If they don't, do they sell fireworks to the public as they do here in the US? Simple stuff like sparklers, etc.

Thanks!

There's no mention of feux d'artifices on New Year's Eve on the Bordeaux official tourist office website:

http://www.bordeaux-tourisme.com/pl/...l?lg=fr&id=258

so I assume not. But there's plenty going on, as you can see.

There are few things that French people with a few drinks in them enjoy more than singeing off eyebrows and burning each other to bits with fireworks, so I should think you'll have little trouble finding some to purchase, along with pointy caps and confetti.
