Bordeaux hotel near airport
I was planning on staying at the newly renovated Sofitel the night before our departure from Merignac, but it's booked.
Please recommend a nice hotel (3-4*) for 1 night near the airport. We will drop off our rental car the day we check in, so we'll have to be close enough for a reasonable taxi fare.
Thanks.

I think you are wrong, Dukey. There's no train service that I know of, just the JetBus, which runs every 35 minutes and costs about 12 euro. The trip into Bordeaux takes about 45 mins unless there's traffic, which there often is.
I think there's a Quality Suites Hotel at Mérignac right next to the airport, but I don't know how many stars it has. I know it's nicer than the Formule 1 that's there.

I think the current fare on the Jetbus is €7 pp.
A taxi from the centre of Bordeaux to the airport costs about €25, and the city might be a more pleasant place to spend the evening than Merignac.
