Bordeaux Hotel

Hi.. I'm looking for any insight on a hotel in Bordeaux and also Nice.. we will be travelling to France in Mid September. Thanks in advance for any help.

We stayed across the river from Bourdeaux in Bouilliac at the Hauts Rives St. James. It's an ultra modern hotel in an ultra quaint little village. Price about $160 euros which is precious little for a Relais and Chateau hotel with great accommodations and wonderful food. The little town is homey. I'll do a search and try to top my trip report that contains yet more info on the place.

In Bordeaux we stayed at the Hotel Opera. It is very basic but the price is right. However, it has no AC and no cross-ventilation. If the window is left open, the street noises can be annoying; when closed the room can get stuffy. But the price was less than 100 euros, the location was great, and the room was clean. The shower was large enough that you could bend down to pick up the dropped soap.

I would suggest checking out the Hotel Majestic. I do not recommend the Petit Hotel Lobbatiere.
