Bordeaux and wine

Hello,

I was planning on taking a day trip from Paris to Bordeaux. Is it possible to sample wines in one day?
Thank you.

Hi H,

You can sample all of the wine you want in Paris?

Why are you gong to Bordeaux for a day? It's 3 hr each way on the TGV.

Although I like Bordeaux, I don't think it makes a good day-trip from Paris -- too much travel time, and not cheap travel.

Yes, you can sample wines there (at the Maison des Vins), but you would not have time to do a tour of vineyards.

Take the money you might spend on TGV tickets, buy a few bottles of good Bordeaux wine, and get happily smashed in your accommodation in Paris.

There are some good wine bars in Paris, so leaving might not be best use of time (how much time do you have?).

But... I can understand the need to go, Bordeaux is on my list

Thank you for your comments. I was afraid that it was too far. Maybe we'll just stay in Paris and go to some fun wine bars:)!
