For light reading on Greece: The Summer of My Greek Taverna.

And anything Paul Theroux has written on either country. (He wrote an entire book on the UK and covers Greece in his book about journeying around the Med)

There are so many books on the UK, I'll make no comment; But on Greece, three things:-

1. Travel books:- The Olive Grove; A Home in Corfu; Dinner with Persephone; An Affair of the Heart. History books:-The Cretan Runner; Island of the Winds;
Fiction:- Zorba the Greek; Who pays the Ferryman?; Anything by Katzanzakis

2. There's a shop in Lonodn called the Hellenic Bookstore which has EVERYTHING. You will be pleased to know it has an online service and you can find it at www.hellenicbookservice.com

3. If you buy yourself a Rough Guide it has a bibliography at the back. You can choose off that list.

have a good trip.
