Booking TGV on line-Geneva/Paris

I hope you can help me one more time.

It doesn't seem possible to book and print tickets on line from the SNCF web site, unless the fares are ALL Prem. I don't seem to get through with 2 adult PREM'S tickets, and 2 "Normal Enfant" tickets.

The price difference is 50 Euro. I'm afraid of typing all the CC details, and in the end, not being able to print the tickets.

Or could I select Switzerland instead of France when I start booking, and have the tickets delivered to my hotel in Saas Fee?

Please, help!

Ceci,

Indeed, the problem is that Prem tix can either be mailed or printed out, whil normal tix can either be mailed or picked up at a ticket office. So bookings combining both types of tickets can only be mailed.

Aside from providing a mailing address in Europe, as you suggest, your only option is to book the tickets in 2 separate transactions. The problem with going that route is that you will almost certainly not be seated together, which is not exactly ideal when travelling as a family...

So yes, I would use the address of your hotel in Saas Fee - I would also inform the hotel that you were doing this, so that they know to look out for them.

Hope this helps,
Andre

Hi Ceci,

Andre is correct. Have your tickets mailed to your hotel.

Thank you, Andre and Ira, for the prompt response.

I think we'll do that, to book and pre-pay on line, and have SNCF mailing the tickets using the address of the hotel in Saas Fee.

WE'll let the manager know that we're doing this, and ask him to look out for the tickets.

Again, thanks for the help.

I bought a round trip single destination ticket online this Spring and was unable to print them. I took my email confirmation to an SNCF window and had them print the ticket with no difficulty.

I found the site confusing, thank goodness for the help I got from this forum. When reserving, to get that lower price, take into account the time at their site, not where you are, otherwise youmight find yourself closed out of hte pricing you want.

Ninasdream, thanks!

However, we can't make it the way you did, because there isn't SNCF boutiques in Switzerland, where we'll be, prior to taking the TGV from Geneva to Paris.

Our only option would be doing as Andre and Ira said, to have the tickets mailed to our hotel in Switzerland. Or, we could opt for purchasing 4 PREM'S tickets, and pay 50 Euro more for them, than we'd if boking 2 PREM'S tix and 2 normal enfant tix.
