Booking Secret Tour at the Dodge Palace, Venice
 

If anyone wants to make a free reservation for the secret tour of the palace, here's the info (based on what I just did).

1. Call 011-39-041-520-9070
2. Provide the date and time when you want to tour the palace. Note that morning English-speaking tours start at 9:55 and 10:45.
3. You will be given a reference number. You should come to the information desk inside the palace on the day of your tour 20 minutes before start and collect your tickets and pay for them at that time.

Adult ticket is 16 euro. Hope this is helpful.

Jayneann, It is better to call the telephone number Vlada provided. You will get an English-speaking operator. If the operator should happen to answer your call in Italian, just ask if he/she speaks English.

Also, I would like to add one comment. It is helpful if you bring small bills to pay for your tour. The cashier would appreciate it.

I don't have an international calling card yet and I'm assuming it's pricey to call Italy. Unless it's a toll free number? :)

Dial 1016868 first.

This is a "dial around" number. It costs 10 cts/min to call Italy, no connection charge.

011 39 041 520 9070 is the correct number.

If anything, one would drop the 0 after 39 if the call doesn't go through.

Does the Secret Itineraries tour also include admission to the Doge's Palace generally? Do I need to buy tickets for both the Secret Itineraries tour and the St. Mark's museums or will just the Secret Itineraries ticket be sufficient?

Jayneann, at 8PM eastern daylight time you said you had just called and got rejection. You realize you were calling them at 1 in the morning their time?

And that 1016868 is dialed before but still including the full 011-39 etc.

Thanks for replying, but I meant I couldn't use the 1016868 number. Was I supposed to dial 1016868 and then all the other numbers immediately after? I waited after 1016868 for a few seconds like I do with a calling card, but that's when I got the automated response.

Neopatick, I called at 8:25 AM this morning, not at night. I emailed at night so maybe that's what you saw. I had to get to work and couldn't continue trying so now I'll have to wait until Monday.

I just answered my own question. Yes, one just dials all of the numbers at once and it'll work! Of course, I just got voice mail since it closes at 4, but I'll definitely call on Monday! Thanks again!!

I plan to have the Venice card that provides free admission to the Dodge's Palace. Do I need to pay twice if I reserve the secret tour in advance?

I called this morning and reserved 5 for May 18. I tried Ira's numbers, but they didn't work for me, so I just dialed direct and got thru. Not on very long. Can't wait for May!

Am I right that booking ahead wouldn't be necessary in February?

I just booked my tickets for the Secret Tour at Doge's Palace using ira's number first and then the other number. When I got through, it said to press number 2 for English so I did and a message came on saying I needed additional numbers and hung up on me.

So, I tried again, this time pressing #2 and it worked!!! I was given a booking number and I didn't have to give a credit card. I am also allowed to stay in the Palace after the tour. June 20 at 11:35, can't wait!!! Oh yes, I was told to arrive 20 minutes early.
