Booking Irish Rail ticket
Tried ordering a one way rail ticket from Killarney to Dublin Hueston on Sunday, August 27 and while I was able to look at the schedule and tried to reserve a seat on a late afternoon train nonstop to Dublin arriving around 9:30pm. I will be staying at B&B to be close to airport for next morning. I was unable to find the ticket cost, just message at bottom of screen: this option is not available online." I would like to book mt ticket in advance as understand the cost of ticket increases when making late reservations. I will arrive Killarney August 24. Any help available on this? Thanks.

Try www.seat61.com -if any site can help this one will.

Wait a few days and try again. You can buy tickets up to August 23rd online, so maybe you are just two early.
|
I checked a number of dates, and it appears that only dates up to 24 August are currently available. I suggest that you try again on the 27th of this month.

hetismij2 is correct. You will get your online info and then get your ticket from kiosk at train station.

Will check Iarnrod again in about a week. As long as I get confirmed seat can print out and pick up ticket at station. Only problem I experienced last few years was finding the rail ticket office closed on weekends which makes no sense especially in peak tourist season. I order
open roads bus passes and they are sent to me in the mail. Thanks to all. |
Busy time of year; busy time of week; busy time of day: try on the 27th of this month.

Note that trains on that route aren't non-stop, there are several station stops. Tickets tend to be available online around 60 days before travel and are usually cheaper than buying on the day.
