Booking hotels on line

I am trying to book a hotel in Florence. So far I have tried booking.com - Venere

hotels.com and otel.com The best rates are on otel.com and I was wondering if anyone

has used them before. Any suggestions or opinons ? Thanks

I used booking.com for hotels in Munich and Prague last May. It worked out well and had no problems. No experience with the other sites you mention.

Ok, but you don't say about payment conditions. The only time I tried otel.com, for a hotel in Prague, it required a pre-payment. It seems to require often pre-payment, hence better rates than others. I have booked many times with venere and booking.com and I always paid direct to the hotel at check-out. I do prefer paying this way. But if you are fine with otel.com's conditions, it's fine to use them, I suppose.

The question arises: why are you not dealing with the hotel directly so you can at least compare rates?

kappa1 ... otel.com does require pre-payment.

I am able to cancel up to 4 days before arrival. I also prefer to pay the hotel directly but

the rates they gave me are half of what the hotel rates are on their website. I did e mail the

hotel regarding rates & waiting for their reply.

dukey1 ... As you can see, I am dealing with the hotel & waiting for their reply.

I am at the beginning stages of research for my hotel room in Florence.

Thanks
