Booked Scavi tour: What else needs to be booked ahead of time?

I booked the Scavi Tour at 9:15am on July 16.

I know most people book this first and then do other bookings around it.

I'm in Rome from July 14-19 (arriving on 13th, departing on 20th).

What else do I need to book in advance in Rome?

Yep, Borghese for sure, and if you want tours anywhere (we had one for the Colosseum, and I wish we'd done one at the Forum as well).

You *can* book the Vatican Museums ahead - we didn't in May and it was fine, but July might be a different story. With a 9:15 Scavi tour, if you want to do the museums the same day, you should be fine with a 1:30 or 2pm reservation (or maybe even earlier - depends on how long you want to stay at St. Peter's after the Scavi tour, whether you want a sit-down lunch, etc). We had a 10:15 Scavi tour, I think, went into St. Peter's afterward (did not climb the dome), went to the museums, stood in line for 45 minutes or so, then had lunch at the museum cafe before going through the museums. It was efficient logistically, though the cafe was not that great! We were probably in the museum between 1-1:30.

We pre-booked our Vatican entry, and also got passes to the Colosseum and Forum that allowed us to skip the line.
