Book hotel directly or booking.com ?

Was it like for like? In Italy booking.com requires the city tax to be included in the shown price. OTOH on the hotel website it'll usually be different.

But hotels are free to charge whatever they like no matter what.

Booking.com gave me a price of 200 Euros. The hotel offered a price of 165 Euros for the same time period.
