Bologna Take-Out Food?

Hi! I just saw a similar thread relating to Venice, and have a question of my own... <BR>Anyone has a recommendation for a place in Bologna's historic center that offers take-out food for early lunch? Thanks!

Your best bet is Tamburni, justifiably famous for its selection of meat, cheese and pasta. You can get roast chicken, veal and pork at the counter as well as cold (composed) salads and vegetables. Also, all kinds of cheeses and what seems like 50 kinds of prosciutto, salami and other cold cuts. If you want to eat there, they have a cafeteria-style offering that is nothing like any cafeteria I have been in. Tamburni is at the corner of via Drapperie and via degli Orefici and via Caprarie (the former turns into the latter). You can reach Orefici by going to Piazza Maggiore, it is to the left if you are facing the cathedral. Also, try Baita, around the corner on Pescherie Vecchie. It is basically a cheese shop but also sells take-out. Buon appetito.

Hey, Wendy, thanks for so tactfully correcting my spelling. Of course, I meant Tamburini, not Tamburni.
