Bologna restaurant suggestions
Hi all,
Any Bologna experts have some suggestions for restaurants, especially ones that are open for lunch as I'm travelling with a 1 year old. My main reason for going to Bologna is to eat great food. A little off the path is fine, I speak reasonable Italian. A mix of cheaper eats and more expensive ones is fine. Thanks, |

We loved Da Cesari - a small but excellent restaurant, very popular! Reservations essential. We saw many people turned away.

It’s a food shop with several rooms behind the storefront - wonderful, but no reservations, and can get busy at lunchtime. We ate early dinner there, but the choices were limited as they are off the menu as they run out of dishes over the course of the day. https://www.sfogliarina.it |
We also loved Da Cesari and it was one of our favorites in a city filled with excellent dining options. |
I highly recommend Trattoria da Me. Booking ahead is a good idea.
Our apartment was across the street from Mercato di Mezzo which is great for a quick meal in the ancient Quadrilatero. |
We enjoyed Trattoria di Via Serra for dinner. I think they are open for lunch. You'll need to book well in advance. They are a bit outside of the center. We also liked getting piadine (singular piadina) from La Tua Piadina and taking them to Osteria del Sole which is essentially a bar where you can bring your own food. And we enjoyed Osteria Broccaindosso (again I think they are open for lunch).
