St Gervais les-Bains to Colmar: Where to Stop for the Night?

Any suggestions for a place to stop for the night when driving from St Gervais to Colmar?

It's a 5 hrs drive, most of it through the Swiss midlands and southern Alsace.

Do you want to stop for the night for scenic reasons or did you just miscalculate the driving time?

Just thought we'd stop for the night if there were scenic or interesting places to see or explore between the two locations. We also wondered if one driving route might be more scenic or interesting than another.

Fastest routes:
St. Gervais - Martigny - motorway Montreux - Bulle/Gruyeres - Fribourg - Berne - Basel - Ile Napoleon
or
St. Gervais - motorway - Geneva airport - Morges - Yverdon - Neuchatel - Biel/Bienne - Solothurn - Basel - Ile Napoleon
or
St. Gervais - motorway - Geneva airport - Morges - Yverdon - Estavayer-le-Lac Aventicum - Murten - Berne - Basel - Ile Napoleon.
Tons of detours to scenic places, historic towns, castles, viewpoints, museums, etc. possible.
