bodensee

Has anyone an opinion as to accommodations and specific areas of Bodensee? We are traveling with two children and need a lot of activities. Thanks in advance

The beautiful gardens on the island of Mainau should not be missed. Meersburg is a nice town in which to stay. A good day trip would be to see the great Rhine falls at Schaffhausen.

Stein-am-Rhine, Switzerland. just up the Rhine from the lake is a delightful remnant of the medieval past. Easy to combine with Schaffhausen and the Rhine falls. Easily accessible by river steamer, train or car.

Info at http://twenj.com/swissdest.htm

Hi, Rudy. We stayed in a small town near Radolfzell (which is near Konstanz) called Moos 2 years ago. It's on the west end of the lake with a few beaches nearby and bike trails that take you through the beautiful countryside. My daughter really enjoyed these easy bike rides. We rented a private, 2 bedroom "Ferienwohnung" (vacation apartment) for a week, comoplete with full kitchen and all the necessary furnishings (about $300/wk. in June) and had fun doing side trips to Meersburg, Lindau, and the Black Forest. I have some info on the area that I brought back with me. If you'd like details on the rentals or have questions on the area, let me know.
