Boat tour from Sorrento to Amalfi Coast
My family of 4 will be in Sorrento for a couple of days Aug 4-5. I would like to take a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast from there with a stop in Ravello (or close with time to climb to it). Does anyone know if that is available?

Absolutely boats go there.
Sorrento is a great jump-off point for Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Go to www.sorrento-online.com and look for boat schedules. There's an English (very small) link in the top right. Then look for boat schedules.
Once you're in Sorrento go down to the Marina and the schedules are posted at the booth for each company.
To get to Ravello, you go to Amalfi and then take a 15-20 minute bus ride up to the sky. Beautiful little town with great views.

Mary - There is a direct hydrofoil service Sorrento-Amalfi (- via Positano). This might be your best bet.

Otherwise there are ferry services, but these usually require a change at Positano.
Here are some links:

From Sorrento there are also the MN Marine Club cruises - one of which is along the Amalfi Coast:

You can find a description of their cruises on:

Hope this helpsm...

Thanks everyone, this is very helpful! I will check this out. Any opinion on boat vs car/driver tour of Amalfi and Ravello? I am leaning toward boat but would love to hear your feedback.
